United Way Honors Danbury's Hometown Heroes At Benefit Dinner

DANBURY, Conn. — United Way of Western Connecticut will honor several of the heroes that the city of Danbury has to offer at the fourth annual Hometown Heroes Benefit Dinner on Saturday, Dec. 2.

Among those being honored at the dinner are Corporate Philanthropy Award winner Union Savings Bank; Small Business Hero Award winner Elmer Palma of Elmer's Diner; Hometown Heroes Celia Bacelar-Palmares, Emanuela Palmares and Angela Barbosa of Tribuna Newspaper and The New American Dream Foundation; and Emerging Hero Kendra Dascano.

“Our Hometown Hero and our Emerging Hero awardees have all made deep and unique contributions to the fabric of their local communities,” said Kimberly Morgan, CEO of United Way of Western Connecticut. “It is such a pleasure to be able to shine a light on their accomplishments and service.”
