Emanuela Palmares to be honored with the Commission on Children’s Robert Haller Memorial Award for Outstanding Community Service
HARTFORD – Emanuela Palmares of Danbury will be honored with the Commission on Children’s 2016 Robert Haller Memorial Award for Outstanding Community Service, in recognition of her leadership on behalf of Connecticut’s children and families.
The Commission created this prestigious award in 2006 to honor Bob Haller, who was instrumental in developing the vision and sustaining the commitment behind the Parent Leadership Training Institute. Haller was a successful business and community leader, a dedicated family man and a tireless advocate who recognized the strength in parents leading for children.
Previous honorees include Olga Brown, director of Public Health Nursing in Stamford (2006); Cheryl Czuba, creator of UConn Extension’s People Empowering People Training (2010); and Sal Hanaif, Bridgeport Young Fathers Program (2015).
“This award means so much to me because it’s from an organization that embodies what I’m passionate about in my career and my personal life – community engagement and being a voice for our children.” Palmares said.
The annual Haller Award ceremony will be part of the statewide Parent Leadership Training graduation ceremony on Wednesday, June 15, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Atrium of the Legislative Office Building.
